For four Monday evenings, we will go deep and explore Bear’s teachings for ourselves personally in a very nurturing, relaxing, cave-like space. Reflecting, resting, going into guided meditations and journey work (being guided into a deeper state with rattle and drum), and talking and sharing on these Monday nights, we will enter the archetypal world of the bear and nourish our spirit from the deep well of our being-ness. Each week we will focus on a different area of Bear’s teachings and how they relate to us in the here and now. *****

Lessons of the Bear include: “winter sleep”, rest, dreamtime, introspection, reflection, going within, intuition, instinct, nourishment, digestion, physical health, connection to the Earth and stars, sacred feminine, mother, protection, boundaries, courage, great spirit, energy, healing, abundance, wisdom, strength, transformation, discernment, power, rebirth, creation, ceremony, community, celebration. This is a great time of year to think about the bear – honored and revered by cultures worldwide in ancient times – and to learn what Bear has to teach us in a shamanic, metaphysical, metaphorical, symbolic, and very REAL, tangible & practical sense, here & now alive on this earth.

*Through attending monthly sweat lodge ceremonies the past 8 years, and through other practices & life’s journey, I have grown a deep love and respect for the direction of the Mother Bear and her teachings. In wanting to create more of a conscious connection to Bear outside of the sweat lodge, and to make time to harness her energies and lessons, I decided a few years ago that I wanted to create a Bear Medicine class. In 2012 we had our first class one winter evening before the equinox, and in 2014 it returned in its originally intended, four-week format. Now here we are again going into the den. Looking forward to spending these evenings with you in the realm of the bear. See you soon. – Jess
